Makarora Mountainview Wilderness Accommodation offers a secluded retreat in the midst of the Southern Alps... Conveniently located between Wanaka & Queenstown to the south & the Glaciers to the North relax in the tranquil setting of Makarora... an ancient healing valley of the First Nation People "Waitaha".

Option of self contained Studio with kitchenette, en suite & private deck OR 2 detached double Cottage rooms each with en suite, tea/coffee facilities & balcony with stunning mountain/rural views.

For larger groups our Rustic Motel is a 3 bedroom holiday cabin with a fully equipped kitchen with open plan living and a full length deck that overlooks the garden & pond with stunning mountain views. The wood fire ensures a cosy atmosphere.

We can supply continental breakfast provisions @ $10pp.

Fantastic room and views
Room had everything we needed plus some extra touches. Bed was comfortable and we could see snow capped mountains. If you want any food, I would suggest getting take-out in the closest town. Murchison is a teeny tiny town but we loved our stay here.

A delightful and peaceful stay.
It was a privilege to stay at Makarora Mountainview. The accommodation is charming, peaceful and surrounded by birdsong. Kenna and her family are delightful and welcoming and Kenna helped me so graciously to resolve some difficulties that arose in planning my itinerary. I would love to return. Staying here was a special chapter in my New Zealand adventure.
